To be honest, I didn't really put much thought into exactly what I was going to write about for my snapshots. I knew I wanted to write about my dog, but I didn't think of including the other dogs at the kennel, that just sort of happened. That's the thing with my writing, though. I don't plan it out or make an outline or something, I just write whatever first comes to mind and go from there. Now, as I'm writing my third draft, my snapshots all are important parts of my life and make sense, but when I was making my first draft I just sat down and wrote down events in my life. That's what makes them significant, because they're the first things that come to my mind so obviously they're important. However, if I were to look back at the snapshots I have just written a month or two from now I would probably remember something even more important that I should have written. But as of right now, I think they're important. I like both stories of my dog because it made me appreciate rescuing a dog rather than just being greedy and asking for a puppy. I think the snapshot at work is significant because it reflects how much I didn't like work or the majority of people I went to school with. The snapshot about the fourth of July and being with Spencer is important because Spencer is important to me. The one about my dad is nice because my dad always cares about me and now that I'm in college I can't even imagine how much he misses me. I think I will add more snapshots for my third draft, and these will have more thought put into them than my first ones because I have already been thinking about what to write, versus the original ones where I just wrote what came to mind.

I also wrote what came to my mind. I didn't make a list of the events I wanted to write about but just wrote the first one and the rest came naturally. I also think that the one that came out are the most significant ones because they are the one I remember the best.
ReplyDeleteI took a similar approach to writing this paper. The first thing I did was write down a list of whatever came to mind and i selected the events i felt i could make the best snapshots out of. I really liked your ides for the snapshots and i think the revisions you have in mind will make your 4th draft even better.
ReplyDeleteI took almost the same approach to my snapshot. the first thing I did was wrote and though about the bad things that happened to me, then i thought about the important people in my life . After i did all pf that i picked out the good in the bad, and also pick which ones will have the most details, for the snapshot so i can make you feel like you right there when it's happening.
