Blog 4:
The first idea
that came to my mind was the bronze medal at the European Ladies Amateur Team
Championships. It was our (Swiss team) best result of the season. And as golf
is my first occupation outside school it came naturally to me. It felt as if I
had to write about that. I felt that writing about golf was important, it takes
so much time in my life. I even play golf when I’m going on holidays.
And it was
the easiest way for me to begin. Starting from this I then had plenty of ideas
to write about.
After
having this snapshot I thought of other important events that I had been
through. I had a lot more to say about golf and what happened to me while
playing this sport. Another great tournament came to myself, the European
Ladies Amateur Championships. I have made my best individual result there and
also earned my qualification for the World Amateur Team Championships.
As the
World Amateur Team Championship is the most important tournament I have ever
played I wanted to describe the feelings I had during the opening ceremony. It
was something really special and big and strong. Representing your country in
such an event is an opportunity that you don’t have a lot of time in your life.
All the
snapshots that I wrote were focused on important moments of my life. They are
all related either to golf or the piano because they are my two passions.
In my first
draft I wrote a very big text about the pianos we have and have had during these
ten years. I liked it a lot but it was far too long so I’ve cut it in some
different snapshots. Sadly I’ve also had to drop some parts. But I think my
text is better like that, it would have been too long and not focusing on the
moment enough.
I’ve thought
about writing another idea that was completely different from golf and piano
but that is also related to my family. I decided not to write it because it
wasn’t as good as the other ones, I struggled to find out how I could write it
and I also had required the length needed.
