"Snapshots"
Inspiration for this paper was actually quite hard to find. One would think that writing about yourself is quite easy, but it's truly not. The amount of detail that you have to put into a writing of this sort is difficult, at least for me it was. When thinking of ideas on what to write, I had to think of memories that I could recollect; ideas that I knew a describable amount of detail so I could write about it for the audience to picture it as well. There are memories that I wanted to write about, but it was extremely difficult to describe with the amount of detail that this type of writing requires. Writing itself is a difficult task for me, and then writing about myself is an even more difficult task. In the snapshots, instead of allowing the audience to discover who I was but inferring through my writing, I would blatantly tell the audience my characteristics or how the memory affected me instead of allowing the reader to discover it themselves. As a writer, I truly had to look inside myself to discover good qualities about myself. I couldn't completely depend on others who truly know me as a person to write this for me. I had to write about qualities that I knew I had. I enjoyed writing this type of writing, as difficult as constantly using an extreme amount of detail was, I enjoyed using detail. Detail itself can create beautiful scenes for the audience to experience and truly how the writer feels about it.
It's interesting, your point of view is completely different than mine. I found it easier to write than other assignments. I liked to write about nice memories I had, and it's always pleasant to go back into the past for the moment of a snapshot. On the other hand I understand it was difficult, I also had to work on the details and add some more.
