"The beach is pretty much her go to place for various different moods… if that makes any sense. For example, if she’s with her friends and is in a really good mood, they might go to the beach and swim in the water; if she’s in a bad mood, she’ll it on the beach and listen to the waves crashing on the shore. It’s actually one of the most relaxing things in the world, she says. She loves the feeling of walking outside and immediately feeling better because the warm air makes her skin tingle."
The exercise I chose to share is the one about changing POV. Changing the point of view of this little snapshot seems to have changed the overall emotion and topic of the piece. In the original, the writer, Bella, explained how the beach meant so much to her; when changing to point of view to the third person, the piece seems deeper in the way that someone else is telling us how a girl feels, or felt, about a certain topic. It feels that the topic means so much to the 3rd person, because of how much it means to the girl s/he is talking about. It might just be me, but that's how I feel.
