Style Exercises

Original: Run. Run. Run. All we do is run. I hate this coach. Why did I even want to play soccer? I should’ve just stuck with football. Or baseball. Anything buy soccer. I hate running. Especially this kind of running. Are we ever gonna stop? How about now? Please? Pretty please…? I feel like I’m dying. I HATE soccer. Soccer is the worst sport ever.

Changed POV: He continues to run and run. It doesn't as seem as if he'll ever stop. No one is quite sure why he even wanted to play soccer. He obviously doesn't run much. Look at the way he's slamming his feet when he runs. Look at how hard he's panting. It looks like he wants to stop, but the coach won't let him. Why is he playing soccer? He surely isn't cut out for it.

I really liked this exercise because it helped change my paper up. Most of my paragraphs were in all first person, so this third person paragraph spices things up. I believe if I change the point of view of other paragraphs as well, it'll help improve my paper overall. First person is definitely the easiest to write in, but it gets bland when you right in it too much.
