A knife is a razor. A knife is a weapon. The night is like a scary movie. The night is like a monster. The night is like a stalking beast. The night is like an ice box. The cold is like a whip. The building is a box. The building is like a cage. The people are like animals. The man is a killer. The man is like a monster.
I might use some of these examples in my story. Some of them would be a little too cliche, but a few would help strengthen my paper.
I really like the simile "the night is like an ice box." I feel like this is a very original idea considering I've never heard it used anywhere before. I plan to use this simile going into my third draft because it fits the mood of my story very well.
