Blog IX- Hewitt
He slowly inches his eyes up and notices that Sam is not the thing looking back at him; Death is what looks back at him and is what has been hovering in the sky the whole time. Sam turns his head towards the watch on his desk above the blank screen of his dead computer and lets out a breath as 18:59 pops up. The orange sky turns to an ashy grey, as the siren lights continue to light up and illuminate the buildings and sidewalk.

Sam smiles at the face, the being that has been by his side all along. He smiles that there has been someone there since his mother’s death. Sam looks into the mirror to find himself somewhere within the swirling reflections. All he sees is the cloudy face clear up into a smiling familiar one... his mother's. His mother has been looming lovingly over him all along.
