Blog #9

1.) After all of the bags have been loaded up, James wanted everyone to triple check the vault and make sure that they had left no money. All three men were standing in the vault assuring themselves that they had taken everything the bank had. James couldn't help but feel some guilt for what he was about to do. The guys looked at James with a sense of accomplishment and the look of 'we might actually get away with this' on their faces. James smiled, sincerely patted them on the back, walked behind them and shot them both. He felt awkward about what he had just done. He knew he was going to do it, but was not expecting the final looks on the faces of his former partners. James rode off to the runway and boarded a plane he had left waiting at the end of the runway. He smokes one final cigar, boards, and fly's off to his newly acquired Caribbean retirement home.

2.) The three men stood in the vault, in awe of what they had just pulled off. They looked at each other with looks of incredible joy and relief. James said that there was still a few things they had to do before they could leave. Just as Fitz was about to ask what was left, he was hit by a rifle butt and knocked out cold. Reichart suffered a similar fate. They awoke several hours later in police custody. Both men, at first, had no idea what had happened. They knew that the gig was over for them, but did not see James anywhere. They asked the officer nearest the cell where the third man that was with them went. After a menacing look, the officer told them that it was just them in the vault. Both men then slowly pieced together what had happened. They asked the officer what/who else was in the area. The officer told them that they only found the ashes of a cigar in the alley outside the bank. The moment the cigar was mentioned, Fitz and Reichart knew James had made off with the money, leaving them to rot in jail. They sat down trying to reconcile themselves, while James was free and starting to plan his new life.

3.) James walked into the vault to join Fitz and Reichart. He calmly said "gentlemen, I think I know where the first couple million will be spent." They both asked where that would be and James told them "at the new Caribbean beach house we're going to buy tomorrow!" They stood for a few seconds afterwards basking in their accomplishment, then made their way to the car. They took a short car ride back to the airport. Reichart had never been one to smile a lot, but his face was the definition of elated. They took the bags and made their way to a plane they had waiting at the end of the airport. Fitz jokingly mentioned to James, "do you know how many cigars you could buy now?" They all laughed and began to taxi down the runway. Reichart said "I'll leave a little going away present for them." He wrapped a twenty dollar bill in one of James' cigars and watched it burn as he tossed the burning bundle out of the airplan door. With that, he said "let's get the hell out of here, I have a beach to get to."
