Blog #2
Writing for me is still a new and unexplored world. Yes, I've written a lot due to classes I've taken and various notes I've had to write, but there is so much more to writing than these little assignments. The world of writing is so large that it is nearly impossible to even touch a piece of it at the young age of 18. As I continue to write I see new doors opening for different writing opportunities and time to still explore. As I continue to write, I keep an open mind for different ideas. New writings and topics being poured out upon me may create a new interest in a specific writing. Being able to go out and explore all of the different writings and topics is such an experience that I cannot wait to continue to grow.

Schools have given people a reason to hate writing when there isn't one to have. Anything people force on you won't ever be enjoyed, but this class can be different. Sure, there are guidelines, but now we have the creative freedom to write whatever we want at whatever length we want and still do well. Writing is so much more than research and footnotes and word lengths, and I'm happy that you understand and admit that. People, especially those in this class, with an open mindset are ones that will get more out of life than those who assume right away and lose sight out what can be.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you spoke about the openness of writing. Writing is not just about one set thing. Yeah there are certain assignments that have requirements, but the content is completely up to you. I also agree with how it’s pretty much impossible to run out of things to write about. Many students get writers block because they’re trying to stick too close to the assignment, in reality there are infinite possibilities when it comes to writing.
